GARDEN EDUCATOR

Starts Early Fall  2024

White Oak Farm in Williams, Oregon is currently hiring an experienced outdoor educator for a part time position starting Early Fall 2024. The Garden Educator will work in three local school gardens and on the Farm.  The position includes creating curriculum, managing and maintaining the school gardens, working with students, and also helping deliver programs at White Oak Farm.  Programs at the Farm include school field trips and overnight Farm Camp.

White Oak Farm is a 62 acre non-profit organic Farm and Education Center in Williams, Oregon that has been delivering programs and produce locally for 22 years.  We are passionate about sustainability, organic farming, natural building, equal rights, and the Earth.  Alongside delivering education programs, we also grow seeds for seed companies, operate a native plant nursery, grow food for food banks, and run a small goat dairy. 

We are looking for land-based, energetic, creative, self-motivated, positive people that are clear communicators.  To thrive in this position an applicant must be confident with large groups of children, organized, and fun!  Extensive experience leading groups of children is required.  This position includes teaching lessons about gardening, cooking, health, culture, and local agriculture.

The position is offered for two years, with the understanding that both White Oak Farm and the Educator will make every effort to fulfill this time commitment as long as it is working for both parties.  Pay is $20-$22/hr based on experience.  The job runs through the school calendar year, from September into the beginning of June.  The position is part time and about 20 hours per week.
