White Oak Farm is a non-profit farm and education center
located in the foothills of the Siskiyou Mountains in beautiful Williams,
Oregon. We are pleased to be offering our sixth year of summer farm
day camp in 2008. This camp for younger children will run from 9:30
am to 1:30 pm Monday - Thursday.
Farm Camp Activities include: Gardening, Exploring
nature trails, Farm crafts, Animal care, Making jam, pickles, and ice
cream, Harvesting from the garden, Milking goats, and Building with
cob.
A Typical Day on the Farm starts with morning circle
and includes farm chores, time in the garden, work on a Special Project,
lunch, farm crafts, and plenty of games and songs.
Farm Fresh Food is prepared by farm staff and the children. We will
make cheese, salads, breads, pizza, ice cream and more, from farm-grown
and other all-organic food.
Staff: Taylor Starr and Stacey Denton are Co-Founders
of White Oak Farm and environmental educators. They are hosting their
sixth season of farm camps in 2008. Sarah Shea and Josh Weber will each
be participating in their second year of camp this year, and we are
lucky to have three environmental education apprentices joining us for
the season as well.
Cost: A week of Farm Camp including organic snacks
and lunches costs $100. Sliding scale tuition is available by contacting
the farm.
